ANTI-FASHION is an exhibition hosted by New York Fashion Week. The showcase highlights Helmut Lang’s impact on the cultural and societal shifts of the 1990s by demonstrating how his designs continue to inspire modern fashion trends. I wanted to approach this identity the way Helmut Lang designed his clothes—minimal, but with a twist. This challenged me find unique opportunities within an everyday entity. I chose typography.
Helmut Lang's archival fashion pieces create negative spaces resemblant to letterforms. Construction details and materials are zoomed in to show off the clothes' uniqueness, because Lang's artistry was all in the details.

Helmut Lang initiated 1990s "anti-fashion" scene, glamorizing minimal looks on the runway whereas other designers favored ornamental ones. Following Lang's approach, this exhibition identity remains simple with meticulous detail on the typography.
